Blakeney Parish Council were delighted to be awarded ‘Quality Parish Council’ status in November 2007 – the first parish in North Norfolk with a population of under 1000 to achieve this status. To receive this accreditation the Council had to demonstrate its ability to deliver efficient services to local residents and speak with greater authority to principal councils. The scheme is designed to provide a benchmark of minimum standards for parish and town councils and enable them better to represent the communities they serve and enhance relationships between local councils, principal authorities and community and voluntary sector organisations.
