ANNOUNCEMENT BY NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL: BLAKENEY BRIDGE REPLACEMENT ACCESS PLAN & DINGHY PARK ACCESS ARRANGEMENTS – Summer 2024

Please see the attached plan showing the latest site layout.  As you can see, the fenced area still allows access to the dinghies and kayaks and also access to both slipways, although the larger one to the north requires a slight detour around the end of the fencing.  Once construction commences there will be no access across the old footbridge.  However, as you point out there is an alternative route that will still be accessible.  Our Contractor Tarmac and their sub-Contractor, Topbond, are both fully aware of the tide timetable and the high tides you and other boat users have made us aware of.  They are confident that they can carry out the works within the tidal constraints.  It is anticipated that the works will be carried out between 19th August and 23rd September 2024.  No weekend working is anticipated although weekend working may be used, if necessary, to allow for any delays due to unforeseen circumstances.

If you have any further questions then please feel free to contact: Mark North, Deputy Bridge Team Manager, Highways, Transport and Waste Infrastructure – Tel: 01603 223804 | Dept: 0344 800 8020 – County Hall, Martineau Lane, NORWICH, NR1 2SG  Blakeney Bridge Replacement Access Plan
